Jakarta as a metropolitan city has markets with their names were based on the names of days in a week. Out of those seven days` name, the most popular until now are Pasar Minggu (Sunday Market), Pasar Senen (Monday Market), Pasar Rebo (Wednesday Market) and Pasar Jum’at (Friday Market). Those names have been used for the name of some areas.

Indonesia To Build Maritime Museum

The Indonesian government is planning to build a maritime museum in Jakarta in a bid to save the treasure, artifacts and valuable goods retrieved from the old sunken ships in Indonesia's waters, a minister said Monday.

West Jakarta Mayor Djoko Ramadhan said, had long West Jakarta City Administration Rawabelong assess changes in the region. "In the future this will not be a sales center cut flowers and ornamental plants only. However, it also will be used as tourism object. Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) Rawabelong, Djoko said, as long as this is already recognized as the largest cut flower centers in Southeast Asia. Yet, because access to this location that many obstacles, this place is less official recognition by the community. Rawabelong Flower Market is located in a fairly dense residential neighborhood and surrounding streets are relatively narrow.
 
To better attract the attention of the outside community, the region will be Rawabelong UPT attractions. To that end, will be built flower gardens, pedestrian path, and the widening of the road along Jalan Rawabelong, Jalan Sulaiman, and the intersection of roads in the vicinity.
 
One of the obstacles that led to a lack of interest of the community to Rawabelong UPT is less dense transportation. Access to the Flower Market Rawabelong through small streets and intersections are often hit by traffic jams.
 
"In the future we will widen the road to penetrate into the Solomon Long Road. In addition, we will also make up the flow of traffic around Rawabelong," said Djoko.
 
Based on monitoring Warta Kota, road section towards UPT Rawabelong hardly avoid the congestion. Fork in the road between Jalan Jalan Raya Kebayoran Rawabelong and old is one of the node congestion due to low discipline of road users, particularly public transport and motorcycles.
 
In addition to the already famous flower market up to overseas, Rawabelong region also has another attraction for culinary enthusiasts. In this area, easily found betawi typical food vendors, such as Uduk rice, vegetables, tamarind, dodol, pletok beer, and chicken porridge. In this area also developing studio-art studio betawi, one Sanggar Si Pitung who developed the martial arts.
 
Djoko Ramadhan said, to realize the tourism development Rawabelong, it has included the development budget in this area in 2010.
